11 killed, 24 hurt in road accidents

Eleven people were killed and twenty-four others injured in road accidents in Dhaka, Sirajganj, Chittagong, Pabna, Netrakona, Moulvibazar and Comilla on Monday and yesterday. Staff correspondent reports, CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Sadar Ali died as a bus hit him in the capital's Shukrabad area yesterday. Our Sirajganj correspondent says, two unidentified people were killed and 20 others injured in a two-coach-collision on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at Ghoza Bridge in Salanga yesterday. The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General and Bogra Mohammad Ali hospitals. In Chittagong, an unidentified man died when a microbus hit him on Kumira bypass road in Shitakunda yesterday. In Pabna, Shikha Khatun, 17, died when a truck hit her on Dhaka-Pabna highway at Jalalpur in the sadar upazila on Monday. In Netrakona, Abdul Malek, 70, died as a truck hit him on Netrakona-Kendua road at Sarapara in Kendua upazila yesterday. BSS from Moulvibazar adds, three persons were killed and three others injured as a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Moulvibazar-Sylhet road at Nadampur in the sadar upazila on Monday. The dead are Azad, Ayesha and Sohel. UNB from Comilla says, two unknown people died and another was injured when a covered van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Comilla-Chittagong highway at Kala Kachuawa in Burichang yesterday.
