Road crashes kill 4, injure 10
Four people were killed and ten others injured in separate road accidents in Manikganj, Chittagong and Dinajpur on Thursday and yesterday.
Our Manikganj correspondent reports, a truck driver and his helper died as a truck ran them over while they were repairing their truck standing on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Golora in the sadar upazila on Thursday night.
The trucker is Abdur Rahim, 50, and the helper Babu Hossain.
Staff correspondent from Chittagong says, a female readymade garment worker was killed instantly as an unknown vehicle hit her while she was crossing the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Baro Awlia area of Sitakunda upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased is Rabeya Sultana, 24, wife of Golam Kibria.
In another incident, ten people, including a girl and three women, were injured as a truck crashed into a fish market in Fishari Ghat area of the city yesterday morning.
The injured are Rina Akter, 30, her daughter Runa Akter, 5, Prabir Das, 42, Suman Das, 40, Md Ayub, 30, Ruhi Das, 40, Anima Das, 30, Subal Das, 65, Delwar, 30, and Aziz, 55.
They were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Our Dinajpur correspondent adds, a boy was killed as a motorbike hit him at Shingur village in Biral upazila yesterday morning.
The victim is Siyam, 5, son of Ruhul Amin of the village.
Police said the motorcyclist knocked Siyam while he was playing in front of his residence.
He died at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
