Pabna ACC probes wealth of 2 ex-MPs, 2 municipal chairmen
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Pabna has started inquiry about six corruption suspects including two former lawmakers and two incumbent municipality chairmen.
They are president of Pabna district AL and immediate past lawmaker of Pabna-4 constituency Shamsur Rahman Sarif Dilu, Pabna district BNP president and former lawmaker of Pabna-4 constituency Sirajul Islam Sardar, Pabna municipality chairman and organising secretary of district BNP Kamrul Hassan Mintu, Ishwardi municipality chairman and BNP leader Mokhlesur Rahman Bablu, Pabna Sonali Bank CBA leader Abul Ehsan Bappi and district BNP leader Abdul Mannan Tipu.
“Following an order from the ACC in last week, we have started inquiry into the allegations against them. We will search their bank accounts and wealth status. If illegal wealth is found, ACC will take the next step,” Md Abdul Gaffar, deputy director of Pabna ACC office, told this correspondent.
The joint forces had arrested them on April 10 last year following allegations of corruption and kept them detained for different periods, sources said.
