FFs meet in Sylhet today to press for trial of war criminals
Freedom fighters of sectors 3, 4 and 5 have arranged a daylong reunion at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground today to press the demand for trial of the war criminals.
Sector Commanders Forum and Sylhet district unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad have jointly organised the reunion, commander of Sylhet district unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad, Subrata Chakrabarty Jewel said at a view exchange meeting yesterday.
Artistes of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra will perform at the reunion while the sector commanders will exchange views with the new generation, freedom fighters and the civil society.
They will also play floral wreaths at the graves of martyred freedom fighters and intellectuals in the region.
Some ninety organisations, including Jatiya Kabita Parishad, Sylhet divisional unit, district unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad, Bangladesh Manipury Sahitya Sangsad, Udichi Shilpi Goshthi, Nazrul Academy and Sylhet Photographic Society, have expressed their support for the union and demanded trial of the war criminals.
Jatiya Kabita Parishad initiated the memorandum to raise the demand.
