Full production in Alim Jute Mill from Mar 1
BJMC chairman Ataharul Islam has said state-owned Alim Jute Mill would go into full production from March 1.
Lay-off of the mill will be withdrawn on February 29, he said.
He said that 1,100 quintals of raw jute would be purchased and that Tk five lakh has been allocated for repair work in the mechanical section.
Project director of the mill Monwar Hossain said repair work was started on February 17 so that the mill can go into full production from March 1.
The jute mill was laid-off on September 22 last year with bank loans and other liabilities worth over Tk 100 crore.
Earlier on Wednesday, casual workers of six jute mills brought out a procession at Khalishpur in protest against BJMC chairman's alleged reluctance to tell anything about meeting their six-point demand.
The casual workers have been on work stoppage since January 1 to press their six-point demand which include payment of all arrears.
