4 killed, 20 hurt in road crashes
Four people were killed and twenty others injured in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria, Natore and Noakhali yesterday.
Our Brahmanbaria correspondent adds, two minor girls were killed after a car ran them over on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Shoshoy village in Bijoynagar upazila yesterday noon.
The deceased are Suporna Das, 6, daughter of Kawtan Das; and Mukta Das, 6, daughter of Akil Chandra Das of the village.
Police said the Habiganj-bound car crushed the girls while they were standing on the footpath near a passenger shed adjacent to their houses, killing them instantly.
Our Natore correspondent reports, a woman was killed and twenty others were injured as a Natore-bound bus fell into a roadside ditch in Dasmail area in Singra upazila at about 1:30pm yesterday.
The dead is Nasima Begum, 30, wife of Abdul Jalil of village Sherkoil in the upazila.
Singra police said the bus from Bamihal plunged into the ditch, leaving the people injured.
The injured were taken to Natore Sadar Hospital where Nasima died at around 3:00pm.
Our Noakhali correspondent says, a truck driver was killed as his vehicle hit a billboard on local town hall road at Maijdee court in Noakhali yesterday afternoon.
The deceased is Mohin Uddin.
