6 die in road crashes
Six people were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Khulna, Dinajpur and Tangail on Monday and yesterday.
BSS reports, a worker of John and Don Company, Hazrat Ali, 22, was killed when a speeding pick-up van hit him at Ashulia in Savar on the outskirts of the capital early yesterday.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the attending doctors declared him dead.
A correspondent from Khulna reports, a local Awami League leader Sathi Chowdhury, 35, was killed and two others injured as a car hit a rickshaw carrying them on KD Ghosh road near Khulna Kotwali Police Station in the city at around 9:00pm on Monday.
The injured are Kamal Chowdhury, 40, Sathi's husband, and Babu, 4, her son,
They were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, a youth was killed and five others injured as a car fell into a roadside ditch at Dargah in Gallamari area of the city at around 8:30pm on Monday.
The deceased is Md Russel, 25, son of Md Nowab Ali Sheikh, hailing from Musolmanpara area.
The injured are Panu Begum, 38, her son Apon, 2, Atiar Rahman, 42, Chobeda Begum, 40, and Nargis Akter Tuni, 22.
In Dinajpur, Md Hachinur Rahman 35, a lecturer of Chirirbandar BM College, was killed on the spot as a bus hit him near Lamb Hospital in Parbatipur upazila while he was going to his relatives by riding a bicycle yesterday noon.
In Tangail, two motorcyclists were killed as soil-laden truck rammed a motorcycle on Tangail-Mymensingh road in Pakutia area of Ghatail upazila yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Kobir Hossain, 45, and Abdul Barek, 35.
