5 Aug 17 Serial Blast Cases In Satkhira
Deposition of 19 PWs recorded so far
Five more prosecution witnesses (PWs) of five August 17 serial blast cases gave statements before a court here amid tight security yesterday, court sources said.
With them, the court recorded statements of a total of 19 PWs.
Judge Mahbubul Alam of Additional Sessions Judge's Court recorded the statements.
The witnesses are Ruhul Amin, Rezaul Islam, Safiqul Islam, Shahidul Islam and Mofazzel Hossain. The next date of hearing was fixed on March 17.
Earlier, statements of 14 other witnesses were recorded on February 14, 17, 18 and 26. They are first class magistrate Saidur Rahman, Rokonuzzaman, Abdul Gaffar, Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) AK Nazibul Islam, SI Abu Taher, Habibur Rahman SI Safiqul Islam, SI Jasim Uddin, SI Hazrat Ali, Shahidul Islam, Rejaul Islam, Mofazzel Hossain and Rawshan Ali, a pickpocket and lone eyewitness of the case.
Eleven out of 19 charge sheeted accused were present during recording of statement yesterday.
Five other accused--Montaz alias Momtaz, Abul Khair, Fakar Uddin, Nayeem and Syed alias Asaduzzaman--are absconding.
Police filed the five cases with Sadar police station soon after blasts on August 17, 2005.
