Kushtia college students lock offices for regular classes
Students of Khater Ali Intermediate College here yesterday locked the college offices demanding regular classes and examinations in their college.
They also demanded immediate appointment of a principal as the college is now being run by an 'inefficient' acting principal who does not pay heed to their demands despite repeated appeals.
There are 300 students and 77 teachers in the college. But students alleged most of the teachers do not attend their classes regularly. They allegedly come to the college to sign on their register and take salaries in the first week of every month.
They announced a fresh programme today to meet their demands which included a sit-in programme on Kushtia-Khulna highway.
When contacted, Kushtia Sadar upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahbubur Rahman, also president of the college said the situation is still ion control. He is trying to solve problems of the college by holding meeting with all the teachers of the college.
