Nirmul Committee demands trial of war criminals
Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee formed a human chain in front of the local press club on Thursday in the afternoon demanding trial of war criminals of
1971.
The caretaker government should take initiatives for the trial of the war criminals who do not believe in the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh, Nirmul Committee acting President Shahariar Kabir said at a discussion on the occasion.
He urged the caretaker government to impose ban on politics for the war criminals.
No reform will be fruitful for democracy unless and until the war criminals are tried, said Nirmul Committee Secretary General Kazi Mukul.
Shaheed Jaya Shyamoli Nasrin Choudhury took part in the human chain programme attended by several socio-cultural and professional organisations of Rangpur.
Dr Ekramul Hoque Swapan, Dr Mafizul Islam Mantu, Goutom Roy, Shakwat Ranga and Elias Ahmed spoke in the meeting.
