Kremlin talks to lead key deals

The three-day visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Russia will be the second highest level visit from Dhaka to Moscow after 40 years since Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman made the first official visit in 1972. Hasina and her entourage team will leave Dhaka for Moscow this morning. Russian Federation Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Vladimirovich Margulov will receive the prime minister at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow. On Tuesday morning, she will first place a wreath at Tomb of Unknown Soldiers. Later, Hasina will meet Russian President Vladimir V Putin at his office in Kremlin for holding official talks. Three agreements -- for state export credit for financing the preparatory works of Rooppur nuclear power plant, for establishment of a nuclear energy information centre in Dhaka, and for the state export credit for financing defence purchase -- will be signed at the meeting. Six memorandums of understanding in different areas will also be signed. After that, she will attend a lunch to be hosted by Putin. In the afternoon, the prime minister will visit the Bolshoi Theatre and enjoy a cultural programme. On Wednesday, Hasina will address the faculty members and students of Moscow State University. The theme of the speech will be “Contemporary Bangladesh-perspectives for collaboration with Russia”. President of Russian Federal Council Valentina I Matvienko will call on the prime minister at her hotel suit in the morning. Later in the afternoon, Hasina will have a meeting with Director General for State Atomic Energy Corporation 'ROSATOM' of the Russian Federation Sergey Kirienko, and then visit Kremlin Museum and Russian Gas exploration company Gazprom. She will leave Moscow for Dhaka on Thursday.
