Man burnt to death in shop fire
A man was burnt to death in a fire which broke out in his shop on Jurain Commissioner Road in Jurain area of the capital early yesterday.
The deceased is Pran Gopal, 50.
Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said the fire might have originated around 4:30am from a mosquito coil in Gopal's shop while he was asleep.
Gopal's charred body was recovered around 5:10am.
The fire also spread to two adjacent shops, the sources added.
Two fire fighting units rushed to the scene and doused the blaze.
An unnatural death (UD) case was lodged with Kadamtali Police Station in connection with the fire incident.
