Environment minister urges all to make Dhaka a clean city
For a clean and healthy city, individuals should refrain from throwing garbage in open and instill the habit of reducing, reusing and recycling in their lifestyle, said Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday.
"The government will soon import six road cleaning trucks to better clean the capital city but individuals should also abide by environmental laws and regulations to ensure a clean city," he also said at a seminar at Nawbab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Hall of Dhaka University.
The seminar was organised to launch the '3 R Pilot Strategy' initiated by Dhaka University and the Ministry of Environment and Forests under the patronage of the Climate Change Trust Fund.
Vice-Chancellor of DU AAMS Arefin Siddique and Secretary of Environment and Forests Ministry Mohd Shafiqur Rahman also addressed the seminar.
