Biggest “failure”

Md. Abdul Khaleque, Naya Paltan, Dhaka
The biggest failure of this most successful govt. is their inability to project properly and extensively their tremendous success in so many areas, to the people of Bangladesh in particular and also to the world at large. This govt. is definitely the best, sincere govt. in the last 36 years. This govt. could arrest two former prime ministers who were also two leaders of the opposition along with a number of senior ministers, the son of a former prime minister, a number of top businessmen (better to say land grabbers, manipulators, extortionists) a number of bureaucrats all at a time. Probably no govt. in the world would dare to touch so many powerful demons in political, bureaucratic, business, circles at a time. This required great courage and great moral strength. This govt. has huge achievements to its credit---corruption, at least at the top levels, has definitely been arrested, preparation of a genuine voter list, separation of Judiciary, great improvement in the law and order situation etc. etc. Only in one area price hike of some essentials-- this government has failed to perform well. One major reason is the rise of prices in the international market of these commodities. Secondly, inexperience and inefficiency of some of the officials is responsible for the crisis. It is obvious that all these “great people” with all their huge resources, huge finance, arms etc. are trying to defame and destabilise the government. They are trying to project the government as a big failure so that they can again come back to power and carry on their evil activities. A number of govt. officials are also in league with these demons. In case these demons come back, it will be a disaster for the country.
