I want to thank your office and especially you for giving the Independence Day Award to the late Prof. GC Dev; it was long due and you did an excellent job to free us from the guilt of forgetting an eminent son of the soil, an intellectual and above all a fine human being.
In my undergraduate student years I used to reside at Rokeya Hall, so I had the chance to see him walking in the afternoon in front of his residence, always a happy face!
If you allow me I would make one suggestion about the next year's awardees. Please see for yourself the 25th March issues of newspapers Samakal(front page) and Prothom Alo and read about one Dr. Mozammel Hussain(M. Hussain) who did the audio recording of military (Pakistani) atrocities perpetrated on innocent citizens of our country on 25 March 1971.
He is teaching Physics at University of Zambia and his permanent residence is B-174, Khilgaon Chowdhury Para, Dhaka 1219 ( Tel. 7216814)
