Selective load shedding!
Due to power shortage, we have to accept load shedding as an unavoidable evil. However, I feel aggrieved when I find some areas of Dhaka city, where schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, clinics and doctors` chambers are also located, suffering regular load shedding, whereas some VIP areas such as Baridhara, Banani, Gulshan, DOHS etc. are exempted from it. The areas having VIP residences, corporate offices, clubs, restaurants, which can afford UPS or generators, are spared the pangs of load shedding. It is not understood why all citizens are not allowed to share this burden.
I would request DESA to please publish in advance the daily schedule of load shedding area-wise, so that we may not only remain alert of the timings but also not suffer for any injustice meted out to us. Let us all share this problem equally.
