Election under CTG

STAR
Nowhere in the world an elected government of the people hands over power to an un-elected government for holding general election. But due to discord and distrust among some of our political leaders, we have introduced a peculiar and uncommon system of caretaker government under an un-elected Chief Adviser for holding a neutral, free and fair general election in the country. Most of the time when defeated in the election our political leaders blame the Chief Adviser to the caretaker government for not holding a free and fair general election and resorting to nepotism and favourtism to help the winners. Time and again this has created political and economic unrest. We wonder what is the utility and justification of a hollow caretaker government system under a Chief Adviser? Further, nationally and internationally the designation of the Chief Adviser to the caretaker government depicts and portrays a very low profile of the rank, status and importance of the prestigious post of the Prime Minister and it does not fall in conformity with international requirements, norms and practices. A successor to an elected Prime Minister is known as Prime Minister or Acting Prime Minister consistent with the requirements of time and situation. Can't we hold a free, fair neutral and peaceful general election under a honest, independent, efficient, strong, powerful and disciplined Election Commission and also address the successor to our elected Prime Minister as Acting Prime Minister after the end of the term of office of an elected Prime Minister? Would our political leaders of the Awami League, BNP, JP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Gono Forum, Bikalpa Dhara, Workers party, VIPs, intellectuals and others concerned think over the matter and do away with holding general elections under the Chief Adviser to the caretaker government after the scheduled general election in December 2008?
