BDR, BSF trade fire in Satkhira
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) traded gunfire across border areas in Sadar and Debhata upazilas of the district early morning yesterday.
The BSF of Amudia, Panitar and Khalsi camps camp in Swarupnagar police station under North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal in India opposite to Taluigachha, Padmashakhra and Kushkhali borders in Sadar upazila fired two bullets each targeting the BDR of Taluigachha, Padmashakhra and Kushkhali camps.
At about 4:00am yesterday, BSF of Kalutala Camp in Basirhat Police Station in the same district of India opposite to Sreepur border in Debhata upazila fired two bullets targeting the BDR who fired back two shots.
On contact, Major Kamrul Hasan, operations officer of 41 Rifles Battalion, confirmed the incidents.
