2 held for Pabna Jubo League leader murder
The law enforcing agencies including Pabna Sadar thana Police and the members of the elite force have arrested
Two persons were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Jubo League leader Saiful Islam Sabu.
The arrestees are identified as Ali Reza Khan Kakon and Mamun in Singa village in Pabna Sadar upazila.
Ali Reza Khan Kakon is a leader of Pabna district BNP committee and chairman of Malanchi Union Parished in Pabna Sadar upazila.
Police said, following a tip-off, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Kakon from his house in Radhanagar area of the town. Al Mamun was arrested from Singa village Friday night.
Officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar police station Md. Iqbal Safi said they were arrested for their suspected involvement in the murder of Sabu.
Jubo League central leader Sabu was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants at Shinga crossing in Pabna Sadar upazila on the night of Tuesday last.
