15 hurt in Jessore storm

A tornado lashed four villages of Sharsha upazila in Jessore yesterday evening. At least 15 people were injured, over 50 houses damaged and many trees uprooted. The affected villages are Barapota, Gopalpur, Echhapur and Amlai. Locals said crops on a vast tract of land were ruined during the tornado which lasted for three minutes only. Amlai Union Parisad (UP) member Rabiul Islam said around 12 dwelling houses were ruined.
