Better resource management needed

We are the inhabitants of a developing country, whose natural resources are very limited. Due to the growing population and fast dwindling land resources, we are facing serious problems. The only open source to meet our increasing demand is the least investigated Bay of Bengal. Most of the islands and maritime nations are largely dependent on the exploitable resources, primarily on seafood. During this crisis, we should give priority to our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Bay of Bengal for exploration, exploitation, conservation and management of its living resources. Considering the above circumstance, an organisation should be established to look after our exploitable resources of the Bay of Bengal. After long eight years, finally the project for National Ocean Research Institute (NORI) had come into sunlight last year, while the ministry concerned selected the best suitable place to set up an infrastructure for NORI's functioning. But unfortunately, due to selection of specific land for the project, it was again stopped in the year 2007. The Environment and Forest Ministry did not give the clearance to about 55 acres of land out of a total of 60 acres and informed the ministry concerned that this place is earmarked for reforestation. As a citizen of Bangladesh I am very much concerned about it and don't know when this project will start again. Finally , I hope our honourable chief adviser will look into the matter as soon as possible to start the activities of NORI , considering the national demand as well as prospects of this organisation.
