LPG bottling resumes at Kailashtila plant
The LPG bottling plant of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) in Sylhet resumed operation Monday afternoon after a shut down for two weeks.
Supply of LPG began yesterday through Padma, Meghna and Jamuna oil companies of BPC in the region.
The bottling plant had to be kept shut as the LPG production unit--NGL Fractionation plant-- at Kailashtila in Golapganj remained inoperative since September 15 for connecting a newly established plant with the old one located at a nearby location.
Shutting down of the plants deepened the ongoing crisis of LPG in Sylhet region.
Official sources said yesterday that the authorities are contemplating commissioning of the newly installed LPG plant sometime this month.
State-run Petrobangla's company-Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited (RPGCL)- established the new NGL Fractionation Plant with a capacity of processing 110 tonnes of NGL and 110 tonnes of condensate a day.
It will help much in meeting the ever-increasing demand for LPG in future, the sources added.
