5 bombs, arms recovered in Pabna, Benapole
Law enforcers recovered five bombs and some firearms in Pabna and Benapole yesterday.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police recovered a bomb from the premises of Pabna Diabetic Hospital in the morning, our correspondent reports.
The bomb with red tapes strapped around contained in a polythene bag was seen by hospital staff at about 9 am. On information, Rab personnel and police rushed to the spot and recovered it.
They took it away in a bucket of water. The incident created a panic in the hospital area.
None was arrested. Police said they are interrogating some hospital staff.
A special team from Rab-6 recovered four bombs, a pistol and two bullets hidden in a straw heap near the house of one Md Asaduzzaman Asha at Dhankhola village under Benapole police station in Jessore.
After recovery, the bombs were defused while the pistol and the bullets were handed over to police, said a press release issued by Rab-6, our Staff Correspondent in Khulna reports.
It said Rab and police are investigating the matter. None was arrested.
