Fish farmer killed for toll

A fish farmer was killed allegedly by toll collectors at Khara village in Mirpur upazila in Kushtia early yesterday. Mirpur police said the criminals entered Reazul Ali Mallik's house by breaking the window at around 3:30 am and slit his throat when he and his wife Fonevan Nessha were asleep. The victim's relatives claimed that a local gang threatened Reazul before Eid for not paying them toll. Reazul leased some ponds in the areas and cultivated fish.
