Workers on strike for bonus, dues
Production of the Crescent Jute Mills was suspended from 8:00am yesterday as the workers started work abstention to press home their demand for payment of Eid bonus and other dues.
Workers observed sit-in from 8:00am to 2:00pm and demonstrated in front of the mill, warning the management of dire consequences in case of any action against agitating workers.
Security forces were put on high alert in Khulna-Jessore industrial belt from yesterday morning to tackle any unwanted situation due to the programme called by the workers of seven jute mills.
