Stimulus package
Last Sunday the government announced a stimulus package of Taka 3,424 crore to fight global economic recession. The package is 43% for agriculture, power 18%, agricultural loan (recapitalisation) 15%, exports 13% and for social security(food) 11%.
They don't give anything for garments. This stimulus package has two parts. The first part is for the present fiscal year and the second one is for the year of 2009-10. Many economists & intellectuals welcomed this package. We also welcome it.
But the RMG sector is neglected!
