Brick export
The good news is that our neighbouring state of Tripura in India is going to get bricks from Bangladesh worth Taka 200 crore as quoted by the President of India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries (IBCCI). Very encouraging newsflash indeed, especially at a time when global economic situation is in doldrums.
We the readers believe that our policy planners are very much aware of the huge impact it will have on the overall natural & environmental factors of Bangladesh. When the minister for agriculture emphasizes that each & every inch of land would be protected for the purpose of agriculture, the raw material landmass required for brick manufacturing would be a wastage.
Before striking such a deal, the environmental protection aspect should be kept in everybody's mind. Money should not be earned at the cost of exploiting our nature.
