2 GRP officials suspended in Mymesingh
Bangladesh Railway Police yesterday suspended Officer-in-Charge of Mymansingh GRP Mustafizur Rahman and In-Charge of Gafargoan Railway Police outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Prafullah Kumar for negligence to duty.
Two passengers were killed and two others were injured Friday night as they were tossed by robbers from the rooftop of a train bound for Bahadurabad Gaht from Dhaka.
A high level team led by Superintendent of Railway Police (Chittagong Range) Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman visited Gafargoan railway station and the spots of occurrences at Rouha Kalirhat, Charipara and Maizhati.
Meanwhile, some 29 passengers were arrested from Gafargoan and Mymensingh railway stations Monday night for traveling on roof of trains. They were sent to jail hajat yesterday.
In a raid at Gafargoan Railway Station Inspector of Railway Police Circle, Dhaka Range Abdus Sattar seized four levers used for riding on rooftop of trains.
When contacted, Superintendent of Mymensingh Railway Station Md. Nazrul Islam admitted suspension of the two officials.
