13 clinics closed in Pabna
The district health department here yesterday closed 13 private clinics and hospitals for violating government rules, official sources said.
Of the clinics and hospitals, nine are situated in Pabna Sadar upazila, three in Ishwardi upazila and one in Chatmohar upazila, Health Department sources said.
They said the action was taken by a vigilance team of Pabna Health Department after a surprise visit to the private clinics and hospitals. The team found that the clinics and hospitals were run by temporary doctors and nurses.
The team was led by Pabna civil surgeon Md Abdul Wadud Miah while its other members were senior consultant Dr Iftekhar Mahmud and Dr Dipak Kumar Ghosh.
