Voter listing starts in Sunamganj
Voters' registration with photos and national identity cards began in Sunamganj pourasava and an adjacent union of the district headquarters yesterday.
The programme was launched in the morning at Government Jubilee High School where Lt Col Zillul Haque, Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Saber Hossain and Deputy Election Commissioner of Sylhet division Khondaker Mizanur Rahman were present.
The officials later visited some other centres in the city as registration work began at eight centres in the town and three in Mollapara union. Earlier enumerators completed house to house visit in the town and Mollapara union of Sadar upazila during.
Voters' registration will be done in Sunamganj pourashava and nine unions of Sadar upazila in three phases.
After completion of the first-phase work in Pourashava and in Mollapara union on October 31, work in Mohanpur, Kathoir, Lakkshmansri and Gourarang unions will be done in the second phase from November 2 to November 10. In the third phase, the job will be done in Aftabnagar, Surma, Rangarchar and in Jahangirnagar unions from November 11 to November 19.
