Rifle found on RU hall roof
A country-made rifle was recovered on the roof of Bangabandhu Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday, the day before reopening of RU dormitories.
A hall cleaner first marked a 'rifle-like object' on the roof and informed the hall staff and the provost.
On information, Motiher police rushed to the spot and seized the rifle for experiment.
Someone might have left the rifle to create panic among the hall students, RU Proctor Enamul Haque said.
RU halls of residence will reopen today and the classes will begin on October 28.
The university authorities have asked the students to show their identity cards at the entrance of the halls. The students have also been asked to carry the cards on the campus.
