Swine flu has created a great panic, havoc and acute health hazard across the globe, it started from Mexico and by now it has pervaded to many other countries including the USA, Japan, it's now alarming and has taken a very menacing turn in the form of endemic and WHO has declared alert in the range of 5. People are very much concerned about the situation. It is a deadly disease and day by day the death rate has been increasing, despite many preventive measures being taken. Scientists are still making their efforts to develop a vaccine and are expected to invent it within a month or two. So far we understand, it originates from swines, and it can very easily transmit from person to person by physical contract. Many developed countries have declared a red alert and adopted many precautionary measures, especially at the country's entry points like airports, seaports and border points, by establishing medical checkpoints for all incoming passengers, visitors. Bangladesh is vulnerable and exposed as the country is surrounded by long borders with India and Myanmar, though till date, fortunately, no case has been spotted. The government should take the necessary steps on an emergency basis to prevent an outbreak of swine flu in the country.
