6 Allaher Dal men held in Gaibandha
Gaibandha police raided the house of 'regional commander' of banned Islamist organisation Allaher Dal at Kachuer Khamar village in the Sader upazila and arrested six militants while they were holding a meeting yesterday..
All the six militants confessed to police that they were active members of Allher Dal led by Matin Mehdi.
Police also recovered a huge quantity of books on Jehad and party documents.
The arrestees are Manjil Hossain, 55, Anwar Hossain, 27, both of Sujanager village, Pabna; Abu Bakker, 26, of Dariyapur village, Shajahan Ali, 28, of Baruipara village, Sada Mia, 30, of Gideri village and Shahrier Rokan, 27, of Kuptola village in Gaibandga Sader Upazila.
Police said they used to gather at the house almost every day for meting.
Manjil Hossain was arrested earlier but released on bail.
Allaher Dal chief Matin Mehdi was arrested last year from Kurigram. He is accused in several cases relation to militant activities.
