Hena Das

We have lost a great lady. She is our Hena Das. Her whole life would remain as a lesson for us. At her early age, she was influenced by the anti-British movement. Later on she participated in our liberation war. Her life was a dedicated one. Although best known for her pioneering work in the field of gender justice, she has also been deeply involved with the communist party, farmers' rights, teachers' rights, and labour rights. At the same time, she was a great educationist. As a great thinker, her attitude towards life was progressive and humanitarian. Her reputation is not confined within our national boundary. She was inspiration for the millions of humanists of Bangladesh.
