Two killed as auto-rickshaw crashes into parked truck

Two people were killed and another person was injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a truck parked on the roadside at Bahuti Battala in Sirajganj Sadar early yesterday.

Auto-rickshaw driver Ashiq, 35, and passenger Thakur Halder, 70, died on the spot.

Relatives and locals said Thakur Halder and his son Bishnu Halder were travelling towards Sirajganj town from Bazar Bhadraghat in Kamarkhanda upazila in the auto-rickshaw.

Injured Bishnu was taken to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Shafiqul Islam said relatives took the bodies home before police arrived at the scene.
