Advertisements!
Some TV commercials are unacceptable but I'd go further—they are brainwashing millions into a wrong sense of what 'everyone' is doing or should be….! Some advertisements tell us certain goods show we are superior to others so that we can have fun humiliating them. But, hey! Join the human race! Some ads claim that very expensive things are necessary - and deny that it is other things that make life worth living. Some tell us that if we do not have 'the right look,' then we are to be despised—instead of telling us that the people who really matter love us as we are. One links an over-priced chocolate biscuit with playful parenting – but who needs such assistance to play with a child? And so on.
Advertisers indoctrinate our children and us – and, east and west, we must be aware.
