Police launch hunt for unidentified attackers after 28-year-old dies in hospital

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death in Dhaka's Hazaribagh early today.

The victim, Sagar Hossain Bullet, was attacked in front of a house on Bhagolpur Lane around 2:00am, according to police.

After receiving a call through the national emergency service 999, police rushed to the scene and found Sagar lying on the road with critical injuries, said Sub-Inspector ABM Touhid of Hazaribagh Police Station.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 5:45am, the police official said.

Sagar had suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, police said, adding that the victim lived on Bhagolpur Lane and was unemployed.

The motive behind the killing is yet to be established, and the attackers remain unidentified.

Multiple police teams are working to identify and arrest those involved, while the body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy, the investigating officer said.
