US to help Bangladesh improve labour rights protections
The US will support Bangladesh in implementing the commitments to improve labour rights protections and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
This was discussed during the first-ever US-Bangladesh Labour Working Group meeting in Washington yesterday (October 27, 2022) to further shared economic prosperity.
US Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W Fernandez and Adviser for Private Industry and Investment to Bangladesh Prime Minister Salman F Rahman, led the US and Bangladeshi delegations, respectively.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed collaboration and assistance to Bangladesh as it takes further steps to implement the requirements developed by Bangladesh for its International Labour Organization roadmap and adhere to internationally recognized labour rights.
