BCL atrocities
A photo published on the front page of The Daily Star of July 12, showing BCL thugs beating up a student demonstrator calling him a 'Shibir' activist,' has drawn our attention. We do not know what wrong that student did. He was just protesting against the discriminatory quota system in BCS, and according to our constitution, citizens have the right to protest. BCL men act as the musclemen of the ruling party and everybody knows that they get everything they want so long as their party holds the power. So it is very easy for them to beat up the deprived ones as they have no idea about the pain of being discriminated, in spite of having merit.
