Eid For Tanners
The Eid-ul-Azha is a special occasion of the year for tanners as they get the lion's share of their raw material. With Muslims sacrificing cattle in the Eid, the market gets flooded with animal hides. The hides are then collected from individuals who have sacrificed an animal and sold to tanneries that process those. If not done properly, the processing of leather could be considerably hazardous to the environment. After processing, leather is used in making expensive jackets, designer handbags and shoes and other export items.
