Country in grave danger
Once in a while the people of Chittagong have to brace themselves for a natural calamity. Cyclones and tidal bores hit the coastal region often. Sometimes the cyclones become weak and cross Chittagong, but when it strikes with its full ferocity, it wreaks havoc all around. Now the whole country is going through a man-made calamity. The signs are so ominous that people are in great anxiety.
We cannot stop cyclones or tidal bores from hitting us, but we can take control of the present situation. The solution is in the hands of the government. If the caretaker government system is reinstated, everything will calm down. The government's action will determine whether Bangladesh will become a prosperous country and go forward or it will be stuck in a rut without any future.
