Deaths and killings
During the BDR mutiny in February 2009, 78 people were killed including 57 army officers and many more were injured. A fire broke out at Tazreen Garments on November 2012, which killed 117 people and injured as many as 200. Then the Rana Plaza disaster in Savar killed no less than 1127 people and fatally injured as many as 2500. Then came the Shapla Chattar incident on May 5, which is still a mystery to us. Political killings and abductions are rampant and the number of people being killed by the BSF keeps on rising with the passage of time. Under these circumstances, it can very well be said that the present era of Awami League is an era of deaths and killings.
