Rain likely to continue for five days
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that rainfall is likely to continue across Bangladesh for five days commencing 9:00am yesterday as the monsoon is fairly active over the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places across the country,” said a regular Met office bulletin.
A low-pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal-North Odisha coasts and is likely to move west-northwestwards. The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal-3 in this regard.
