Fragrance of New Rice

Fragrance Of New Rice   Nabanna Utshav-1420 was held at Bakultala of Dhaka University fine arts faculty on November 15.  Nabanna, the festival of new harvest, is celebrated by people in the rural regions across the country during the Bangla month of Agrahayan. Non-communal in nature, the festival represents agriculture-based traditions and culture of Bengal. Traditionally poets, painters, musicians, bauls and people from all walks of life come together at the festival. A big draw at the celebrations is food.  The celebration has already aroused much enthusiasm among urban people of all classes.  The programme at Bakultala upheld the rich heritage of the country through solo and group renditions of folk songs, baul songs, dance performances and recitations.   Photo: Rashed Shumon City in Frame 3 City in Frame 2 City in Frame 4 City in Frame 5 City in Frame 6 City in Frame 7 City in Frame 8 City in Frame 9 City in Frame 10 City in Frame 11 City in Frame 12 City in Frame 13
