Agriculture Secretary Emdad sent into forced retirement

Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian has been sent into forced retirement, according to a notification issued today by the Ministry of Public Administration.

The notification stated that Emdad Ullah Mian will receive retirement benefits as per government rules.

Under section 45 of the Government Service Act 2018, the government has the authority to discharge any public servant once they have completed 25 years of service.

On August 14, 2024, Emdad Ullah Mian, then serving as a member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission, was transferred to the post of Agriculture secretary.

Meanwhile, Local Government Division Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi was relieved of his position this evening and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.
