Lest we forget Kaikobad

S.A. Mansoor, Dhaka
op01Now that the memories of Savar tragedy are gradually fading from our mind, we should make it a point to remember Mohammad Ezazuddin Chowdhury Kaikobad. This person disregarding personal risk and safety, sacrificed his life in rescuing fellow human beings. I would request that all our dailies write a feature about him, with his latest photograph (if possible), mentioning all that they have gathered about him and his family. His unparalleled brave and selfless deed was more than what soldiers can do in the field of battle, where death is an accepted occupational hazard. This ultimate “humane” person gave his precious life to serve his fellow compatriots. The least he deserves is a memorial honouring him on the Dhaka-Savar road, so that his sacrifice is never forgotten. I am sure all readers will support this proposal. May Allah rest his soul in peace, and enable his family to bear his loss with patience.
