[gallery ids="41645,41646,41647,41648,41649,41650,41651,41652,41653,41654"] As the search for survivors continues at Rana Plaza and the death toll crosses 200, relatives wait for the return of the workers who were in the building when it collapsed. Thousands of family members gather at the site or at the nearby hospitals -- their eyes brimming with tears or in fear of losing dear ones. Firefighters and soldiers, who have been taking part in the rescue efforts, have been joined by teams of volunteers. Many have taken part in the rescue operation without any training and are only responding to the call of humanity. In the maze of rubble, amid the cries of the trapped, they work in ways that are refreshingly more than professional. Meanwhile, the nation, already reeling from the shock of the Tazreen Fashions fire that killed more than a hundred in November, observed a day of mourning yesterday. The Rana Plaza disaster once again brings forth the issue of workers' safety. Protests and complaints from activists have swept the social media nets and media, with many describing the incident as “mass killing”. .....................................................................................................
