Save your life first
The wife of a college teacher named Dil Afroz, was stabbed to death by a robber at her residence in Barisal city in the early hour of July 5, 2013. After becoming aware of the robber's presence, she cried out for help and caught hold of him. The robber stabbed her and fled the scene with two mobile phone sets and Tk 2500.
We often hear about this sort of incidents where people are being shot or stabbed to death by dacoits and hijackers, whom they try to resist. Life is more precious than anything else. So why not let the criminals have your possessions and save your life?
I have read an article in the Reader's Digest which advised people if they become aware of thieves entering their house to feign sleeping and not to encounter them because the intruders most probably have lethal weapons with them and they will not hesitate to use them. It is wise to act prudently in these situations.
