Specialist doctors' guild
I have been dealing with my younger sister's treatment for the last two years. During this period I had the fortune to consult with quite a number of specialist doctors of Bangladesh; most of them being very cooperative and helpful. But the problem is there is no communication among the doctors. Poor patients and their attendants who may require a second or third opinion; visit specialist doctors who review their cases and provide expert opinions. Unfortunately, only a few doctors like to listen to other's opinion often undermining their own modes of treatment. In reality, if specialist doctors could share their knowledge and expertise among themselves, the patients could be more benefited and get cured of their ailments quickly and at lesser costs.
So I feel that the specialist doctors should, discipline-wise, form a professional guild. If not through direct contact, they can at least do it on the internet.
