Parliament forms standing committee on planning ministry

The 13th Jatiya Sangsad today formed the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Planning, appointing BNP lawmaker Abdul Moyeen Khan as its chairman.

The committee’s other members are State Minister for Planning Zonayed Saki, Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Moinul Islam Khan, Fakhrul Islam, Shawkatul Islam, Farida Yasmin, Jamaat-e-Islami MPs Saiful Alam Khan Milon, and Rashedul Islam.

Chief Whip Nurul Islam proposed the formation of the committee with the consent of Leader of the House Tarique Rahman.

The proposal was later passed by voice vote in parliament.
